Convert Word to Wordperfect?

Is this possible? Have one user that has Word 2003. She emails word docs
to another user that has WordPerfect. WordPerfect is unable to open
documents.
I believe it used to be possible in older versions of word to save documents
in WordPerfect format. This doesn't seem to be an option in Word 2003 or
am I missing something.

WordPerfect is supposedly able to open native-format Word files.
Alternatively, save the Word file as a Rich Text Format (.rtf) file,
which WordPerfect can open.
