Convert WordPerfect 11 into MS Word 2007

I need to convert both WordPerfect 11 and Quattro Pro 11 documents into MS
Office
Home and Student 2007 ?
I found a converter for much older WordPerfect versions, but not for version
11, any help would be appreciated.

When I did a Google search ("WordPerfect 11" convert Word) as the search
without the parenthesis, I found quite a few Shareware WP->Word converters
that apparently will handle WP 11 files. Don't have any idea if any of
them will actually do the job you need.

Something else you may try, again, I don't know if it will work but Open
Office www.openoffice.org will import different file formats than Word
will. I would download and install Open office and try to read the WP files
in it and if they will open then save as DOC files to import into Word. Try
the same with OO's Calc program for QP.

Let us know if this works or not.

If you still have access to those applications, check their save as options.
WordPerfect 11 may be able to save to a prior Word version format which
Word 2007 can open and convert to Word 2007 format.

I checked the WordPerfect11 and it allows you to Save As a Microsoft
Word version 97/2000/2002 document. I have Word 2003, and the
converted doc is readable (original WordPerfect 11 wpd file). My guess
is that Word 2007 can also read the converted Word doc.

One issue that I've run up against that I'm wondering if anyone has the
answer to is:
When converting from WordPerfect11 .wpd to a Word document, the
creation date changes to the current date. Is there a way to keep the
original creation date when converting it? This would be extremely
handy in future sorting by date, which would otherwise be lost when the
conversion occurs. IrfanView, a freeware image viewing tool, allows you
to have this option when converting a photo, for instance, by checking a
"use original creation date" box.

Any ideas?

Are you saying that when WordPerfect 11 converted the file to Word 2002
format, the *wpd extension was retained? I would expect that the file would
be changed to a *.doc file. I would also expect that if Word 2003 can open
the file, than Word 2007 will also. However, never tried. If the file has a
wpd extension and Word 2007 cannot open it, try either changing the
extension to a doc one or saving the file from Word 2003 using save as and
change the extension to doc.

I know of no way to prevent the creation date change. However, there are
third party utilities that allow you to change the dates.
