convert works 7 word document to Office XP word document

Hi,

After changing from Works 7 to Office XP Pro 2002 I now find that my old
Works 7 Word documents cannot be imported into Office. None of the formats
are correct and all the text is just garbage. Is there no way to convert
Works 7 documents for use in Office XP?

Are your "old files" .doc files or .wps files? If they are .doc files,

then try opening them in Word 2002 using File | Open | Files of type: "All
Files" or "All Word Documents". The files-of-type setting should not be
"Recover Text from Any File". If they are .wps files, see

Okay I've figured it out now ) I've used the "Batch Conversion Wizard" in
Office XP to convert all .wps files and its worked. Cheers for the replies
mate.

My old files are .wps. I've no longer Works 7 on my PC so have downloaded
the Works 6 converter, but the files still only display as garbage.
