I have converted some Access 97 applications to Access 2000 (running on a XP
machine). These applications are straight foreward and consist of the
familiar tabels, queries, form and reports. The queries and forms work well,
but reports hang up Access (XP closes it down). They stop Access in the
design mode, trying to edit the reports, when closing down a preview or just
after printing.
The A97 version of the applications work well, and were compiled and
compacted before conversion. I have never had any problems with the reports
in A97.
At the moment the only way to get it working is make new reports in the
A2000 application. Importing reports does not cure the problem. Copying the
objects from the faulty reports into a new 'clean' report seems to work.
I wonder what causes the problem and have not been able to find articles on
this. Am I overlooking something ?
Thanks for ideas put foreward to find the cause and solve this.
