Ok, so I finally upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003. However I'm a little
concerned about the way Publisher 2003 saves web pages. I have a fairly
extensive site designed entirely in Publisher 2000. www.newspective.com. It
is designed using many different 1-10 page publisher files that are then
FTP'd to the web server in seperate folders. All of my links then are
directed to a specific .html file.
However, I'm noticing that Pub 2003 saves the multiple page files either as
a "home" page with a sub folder for the other pages and images or it will put
all the files in one folder. Either way all my links aren't going to work.
Either they need to all be re-created to look at the "Home" page and
sub-folder or if I select to NOT use the sub-folder it re-names all the pages
as name_actualname.html.
For instance if a specific Pub file contain 3 pages. The main page is
called 2004.html the second page is called 2005.html and the third pages is
called 2006.html. When i publish the site it calls the first page 2004.html
but the second page is not called 2004_2005.html and the third page is now
2004_2006.html. This will cause all of my links to be broken.
Is there any work around or am I going to have to re-work the entire site to
fix every link?
Please help.
Thanks,
Steven Wales
