Converting a Word 2003 to Adobe

I have a user who is converting a 500 page document to Adobe. When the
document is converted the figures in document show the following field codes:
{tc “1.5-1 CEW Space Coordinate Systemâ€\f g\1 1\ *MERGEFORMAT}

I have selected the entire document and pressed ALT + F9 to toggle the field
code but the figures in the document remain the same.

Does anyone know how to prevent the field codes from showing?

Make sure that "Field codes" is not checked on the Print tab of Tools |
Options.
