Converting AmiPro Documents

I have some old AmiPro documents that I need to convert, but my new install
of Word 2003 doesn't seem to be able to handle it. These old docs are from
about 1994-1996, whatever release of Amipro that would be. I installed the
converters when I loaded Office 2003, but Word doesn't give me an option for
that file format (.sam). I don't have the original program any more, so I
can't approach it from that direction. Any advice? TIA.

The old amipro converter - you'll find it linked from the downloads page of
my web site - will work with Word 2003 and add a listing for AmiPro in the
file open dialog. be warned that there are a lot of differences between
AmiPro and Word and complex documents are unlikely to convert well.
