Converting calendar events to tab-deliminated text

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Entourage 2004 does not allow exporting of calendar events to a text file or any kind of file readable by WORD or Excel. Is there any way to do this so I can create a database file to keep an archive of old calendar information? I don't want to rely just on the Entourage.rge file as the only archive.

Exports certain data from selected events to an Excel spreadsheet. Select
Calendar Events and export as a CSV file that can be used in Excel. Useful
for creating Invoices.

Sorry, nothing here does what I want. The Wainright script only converts one event at a time as far as I can tell. I'm trying to archive several years worth of calendar events, so there are thousands of entries. I also tried the "iCal to CSV" script and I couldn't make it work at all. Am not sure what I'm doing wrong there unless the script doesn't work with the latest version of iCal.

I hope you can come up with more suggestions for me to try. Thanks.

Sorry, but that's all the help I can offer. You are the first person to ask
for this feature.

Do you know of any calendar that exports as tab delimited file? Can you
import Entourage calendar into that calendar?

Sometime back in the dim-dark days before I retired I used to be able to do this, I think with the Palm Desktop. But now OS 10.6 isn't compatible with Palm Desktop. For whatever reason Apple and Palm seemed to have pissed each other off now so are going out of their way to make it difficult for those of us who use both. Missing Sync helps but isn't an answer to my particular need.

I figured out one problem with iCal2CSV, that is calling the calendar the right name, but I still get an error "iCal got an error: AppleEvent timed out." and it won't complete the job.

Maybe I'll try the new version of Palm Desktop on the Bootcamp Windows partition and see what happens.

Hello,

Exporting to different data formats is Entourage's Achilles' heel.
The only thing I can think of is to create a custom AppleScript solution
to handle this. It might be possible to do it in Automator as well
with keystroke automation. I'm going to investigate this myself -
it's been on my wish list ever since I purchased Entourage.
