I created several databases in Access 95. Then they were converted to 97 and
last year to 2003. Unfortunately I was told they were created using older
technology, DDE? Getting merge documents to work is annoying--having to
select DDE format.
Is there a way of updating DDE to OLE? Are we STUCK with this older
technology without a way to update it? Will it cause me more problems with
the next conversion? Should I try and recreate the database in 2003? If I
recreate it can I just copy and paste forms or does that cause more problems
and I lose the OLE?
OK in over my head with all this--haven't researched this.
Yesterday a user received this message "too many DDE channels are open" This
might be a separate issue, but it's never happened before.
THANKS!
