Converting diagrams for older software packages

I need to produce a diagram in Visio 2007 to send to someone else, however
the version of Visio they have is Visio 2000 and their package won't allow
them to open it. Can I save my diagram down as a version they will be able
to access on their version?

the format between v2000 and v2002 is supposed to be identical for basic
shapes. Is there embedded code in the drawing or is it associated with an
add-in/add-on?

Not that I know of, they're just basic diagrams but either way they can't be
opened on Visio 2000, the error message says they are on a newer version of
Visio and therefore cannot be opened.

Thanks anyway.

I'd start by using help=>about and see what version is really being run,
since vanilla documents should be readable (i.e. a v2002 s/b readable by
v/2000). The next question is "do they have to edit or just look at it?", If
just look at it then save as a pdf and send that instead.
