Converting from Acc 97 to Acc 2000

I need some advise.
When I convert a running application to Access 2000, (and
renaming it) the conversion gives no error messages. When
I run the converted application with Access 2000 I get
a "ActiveX component can not create object" error when my
main menu tries to open.
I do not get this error when opening the original
application with Access 97.
Are there pramaters for the conversion that I should be
using? I am at a loss.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

My first suspicion is one or more missing references.
