TO whom it may concern

I have trying to convert an Access database from 97 to
2002 and at the end of it the following message is
displayed:-

Missing or broken VBE reference to the
file 'ACTIVE~1.OCX'.

Can you let me know what it means and how I can resolve
it?

Thanks

Nick

For a description of what references are, how to manage them, and which
references you need, see:

Fantastic! I've just tried running an Access-97 database and had
all sorts of problems (like Mid being unrecognized). Even from a
quick skim I see that the above two pages will help me. And I
didn't even have to post my question. :)

Hi Allen,

I figured out the reference thing during my conversion process, but please
see my post from earlier today about two converted forms that cause the
converted app to shut down w/o warning in Acess 2003 when I try to open them.
Also, it seems to me that A97 is by far the best version of Access. I have
not upgraded until now, but maybe I should have continued to wait.

It is possible to configure A2003 so that it is more stable than A97 was.
The referenced article lists the factors that made this possible in our
experience.
