converting from Outlook Express to Outlook ...

Hello Everyone,

Can someone lend me a hand here? I attempted to import usint the
Import/Export menu of Outlook 2000 my Outlook Express Identity. It seemed
to work but I am missing a ton of messages in deleted items and in sent
items and other folders. What is the cleanest way of doing this conversion?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The best approach to moving messages from Outlook Express to Outlook is to
export them from Outlook Express. File>Export>Messages.

Surely the point of DELETED items is that they are DELETED! Why on earth
would you want to import those? Do you use the deleted items folder to
actually store mail that you want to keep?

I just did this and noticed that only 121 of my deleted items exported... I
wonder why.

I have 9000 items in my deleted items folder, but also other folders are not
getting all of the mail that OE shows they have either.

Because there's *9000* of them you ninny! WHY in God's name are you
keeping them? If they are DELETED you don't need them!
Sheeeeesh!

Gordon, what you are seemingly missunderstanding is that there are a ton of
folders falling into this situation. If it were simply deleted items then I
would understand your logic.

try emptying the deleted items folder, and compacting ALL folders
(File-Folders-Compact all folders) before trying the import function in
Outlook

I tried this.
