converting from Outlook Express to Outlook

I have been using Outlook Express and now want to use Outlook instead so I
have calendar capability. I have gone back and added Outlook to my computer
via my software and then tried to go into Outlook to import from OE but I
can't even get it open.

What happens when you try to open Outlook? Do you get an error or other
dialog?

Most likely an incorrect configuration in Outlook. As Outlook Express
does not support Exchange Server, you should probably not use an
Exchange Server configuration in Outlook.

Try to configure your Outlook account(s) the same way they were
configured on OE.

Well, I have no idea how to do that, especially since I can't even get into
Outlook.

Do you have an Outlook icon on your desktop? If so, right-click on it,
then select Properties. From here you can configure your email accounts.

If not, open the Mail account in Control Panel to configure your accounts.

Use the Mail applet in the Control Panel. You'll need to remove any
reference to Exchange there.

Sorry I am so dum, but I don't know how to configure anything. Specifically
how do you do that? Or will I need to get professional help? Thanks!

How do I know how they were configured in Outlook Express? I don't know where
to go or what to do once I open the Mail applet. Thanks.

Look on your ISP's help pages for details on how to configure a mail client
for accessing their servers.
