Sorry, I guess I left a lot of info out! I'm using Publisher 2003. It is an image I created in Photoshop CS2. I eliminated the background of a .jpg and then saved it at a .png. THe resolution is about 600 dpi., but only 2.2"x.6" in size. I've tried converting it with two different converters: Distiller from Acrobat 5.0 and CutePDF. I've tried it in CMYK mode and RGB mode. In researching it sounds like Publisher just can't handle the "layers." Is that true? I've found a work-around and that is to open the bad looking pdf in Photoshop (which looks just great when I open it there) and then have Photoshop save it as a .pdf. It is just cumbersome when it's one of 12 pages of a newsletter. I then have to replace the page in the newsletter .pdf with the one I created from Photoshop. I was hoping there was a way to do it from Publisher to save the extra steps. Thanks so much.
