If you haven't purchased it yet then I wouldn't use the link provided to
make your purchase. In the end you'll end up paying MORE than if you were to
buy it elsewhere from either a brick and mortar store (one you get in your
car and drive to) or, as Milly suggested, Amazon. The online option charges
you for the installation (download only) at the same cost as purchasing
Office in a box. THEN they charge you more for the installation CDS along
with some type of online safe for your download and product key that has an
expiration date. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention if you encounter problems with
your purchase they don't have a phone number you can call. (I SO hope
Microsoft doesn't contract the same company for Office 2010, they are
terrible!)
You should be able to purchase Office 2007 Home and Student for around $150
US (which includes the installation CDs) with no need to pay extra for
anything else. Also note if Office came installed on your computer with a
trial version then that's even worse. The cost may appear cheaper but in the
end you get what you pay for. Office will be tied to the computer it was
installed on and is non transferrable. IOW, if the computer dies so does
Office and the license doesn't enable you to install it on up to three
computers as you do with the retail version of Home and Student 2007.
The main thing you want to watch for when purchasing Office is is get a
retail version and one with the installation CDs. If they are selling a
download only, as they will if you use the purchase link or charge you extra
for the installation CDs, then you're getting ripped off.
