Converting html data from the web to an Excel worksheet

Ted

I am using Excel X on a Mac Powerbook with OS X. I want to transfer
data from a table on the web(in html) to my Excel program so I can
manipulate the columns and rows. When I copy the data on the web and
then paste in the Excel spreadsheet all the information is contained
in one column-rather than in a table. Interestingly, when I do the
same steps on a PC I do get the table as expected. Can anyone tell me
how to transfer the html data so that I get a table I can manipulate.
Thank you.

Hi,

In your web browser use View>Source to view the HTML code. Copy the code
from the beginning <Table> tag through the ending </Table> tag including the
tags themselves. Then paste the HTML code into a cell in Excel.

Alternatively you could make a web query.
