converting / importing

Can I either import a file format other then CAD into VIsio or is there a way
to convert a file format (PDF or JPEG) into a file format that will then
allow me to import it into a Visio file. Once completed I would need to be
able to edit the Visio file

CAD is vector, and thus potentially editable in Visio, JPEG is Raster and
thus is not going to be editable in Visio (apart from cropping it).
If you want to edit in Visio, then you need to import a vector file, such as
wmf or svg.
