converting mail message to plain text

I would like to convert mail messages into a text files so I can save them independently from Entourage. Is there anyway to convert the .mbox file or the single messages to text files?

Entourage Many to Word By: Allen Watson

This script will take one or more selected messages (or a single message if
open) and will write them all to a single Microsoft Word document.
