Converting .msg email files to Entourage mail messages

I have saved and stored a lot of emails from Outlook on my PC as messages, therefore a .msg. Recently I have changed to iMac and transferred the folders containing those mails to this iMac. I do not need to import these mail into Entourage, but want to be able to read/open them with Entourage. I haven't been able to find out with which file-extension Entourage saves it's messages [I have enabled viewing file-extensions], so I cannot simply change the extension.
Of course I can change the extension to .eml, but that opens the mail with iMail [which I don't use otherwise]. This is not satisfactory because the first part of the messages does not appear.
I don't know much about Exchange or .pst, I just want to be able to open the messages with Entourage for reviewing and/or change the extension into an Entourage one.
Awaiting help eagerly and thanks in advance,
Katrijn

You don't need to change the extension. Instead, in the Finder, select one
of the .msg documents. Select Get Info from the File menu (or press cmd-i).
In the Info window, under Open with: select Microsoft Entourage. (If it's
not there, click on Other... and select it.) After you've selected it, click
the button labeled "Change All ..." Then your Mac will use Entourage to
open any file with a .msg extension.

(I don't have any .msg files, so I don't know if Entourage can in fact read
them.)

Good luck.

Entourage saves as .eml.

You are the first person that has asked about import .mgs files so I have no
direct help. A search did find this Apple KB:

<http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1534>

This is the info we have: Check out the options on the "Convert Mail from
Windows to Mac" Page:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/cross_platform/win_mac.html>

Once you can see how mail is moved, you should be able to find a solution.
If you still have your PC or access to one, you should be able to get your
mail over.
