Converting Office/Word 2007 document for Office/Word 2000 user

Hi,

My wife is running Vista with the latest Office which I believe has Word
2007 (?)
I am running XP with Office/Word 2000.

When she emails me a Word document, I can't open it since it's saved as a
Word 2007 file and my version doesn't recognize it.

What do we need to do on the Vista/Office/Word 2007 side so I can open
future Word files from her comuter?

I'm sure it's an easy fix.

Many thanks.

..docx is the new Word 2007 file format. If you don't have Office 2007
yet, then your wife should "save as" to the Word 97-2003 .doc format and
send you the .doc file, or you can install the Office 2007 compatibility
pack as described in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=923505 "How to
install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack so that you can use
earlier versions of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to open and to save
files from 2007 Office programs".
