converting older office xp files to office 2007 files?

Liam

Hi,

I was wondering. I have just installed Office Professional Plus 2007 and am
just wondering how I convert the older files I have, which were created in
Office XP and Office 2003. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Open the file in the 2007 program. Click the Office button in the upper left
corner and choose the Convert item on the menu (which is there only if the
document is in the older format). Use the Save As command, also on the
Office button menu, and set the "Save as type" box to the new format, using
the new extension.

Alternatively, you don't have to convert documents to work with them; the
2007 programs will continue to open and save them in the old format, which
is useful if you have to share them with other people who don't have 2007 or
the Compatibility Pack. When you do that, the title bar will show
"Compatibility Mode". If you try to use new features that aren't compatible
with the old format, some of them will be disabled; with others, the program
will warn you when you try to save (or you can use the Compatibility Checker
on the Office button > Prepare menu at any time).
