Converting Powerpoint to word

J

Joey Podavin

hi there,

I'm having trouble converting a power point presentation that my
teacher gave me into a word document. I open the document in
powerpoint. Select send to Word, word opens and the word document is
empty. Am I missing a step? Is there any other way? Is it a bug in
the system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Exams are coming
up!

cheers,

Joe

What are you expecting to come through into word?

If there are pictures etc they won't transfer. All that will transfer is the
text in the title boxes and main text boxes set up in the slide masters.

If you want a full copy of each slide in Word, then select 'save as' from
powerpoint and choose 'PNG' as the file format. Each slide will then be
saved out as an individual graphic in a folder with the name you define and
can be inserted into a word document.

What version of Office is your teacher using? If they're on Windows, they may
be assuming that the Mac version of Send To Word behaves identically. It
doesn't. Under Windows, Send To Word produces a Word table that's three
columns wide by however-many-slides deep (this varies depending on options
selected, but it's the default).
