Converting Publisher file to web site

N

Not understanding

Using Windows XP-Pro SP-2, Publisher 2K, SP-3, Frontpage 2003, when I convert
a publisher file to a web site, I get the error "The files necessary to
support the target language you have selected cannot be found on your
computer". Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I have several
Publisher files to convert.

Thank you

File > Web Properties. Under Target audience change the Language to Unicode
(UTF-8) and see if that helps.

I am not sure what you are planning, but given that you already own
FrontPage 2003, I would suggest that you use it to build your website...not
Publisher. You won't face the same limitations with FP and will be happier
in the long run.

Thank you for the reply DavidF. You are correct, changing the target
language enables me to keep the diamond symbol in my Publisher newsletter
conversion to the web site (which was built with FP-I need to keep a printer
version as well, I am not using Publisher to create web sites, only to
convert ten years worth of newsletters).

Good. Glad that fixed the issue.

I don't know how you are using the converted newsletters, but you could also
consider converting them to PDFs and make those available on-line.
www.primopdf.com offers a free converter that allows for both a high
resolution and a low resolution version for on-line use. PDFs might be a
better way to archive the old newsletters....just an idea.
