I converted a 97 database to XP (without going through
2000) and opened a report containing four subreports.
The subreports seem to have scroll bar arrows and nothing
else visible. I could not click on the subreports
through the main report to open them no matter how hard I
tried. When I attempted to open the same subreports
through the query design window I was told that I could
not open the report again since it was already open. I
was told I would have to click on "view - subreport
through new window." I returned to the main report with
the scroll bar arrows and tried to click on "view -
subreport through new window" and the option was grayed
out. When I clicked to the right of the subreport it
finally selected that subreport and I now had the "view -
subreport through new window" option. Once I opened each
individual subreport in this way and closed them they
became available through the double click means I am
familiar with using.
The question I have is, will we have to do this for every
existing subreport and/or subform as we convert more
databases like this? It there a macro we can write to
open them automatically as they are converted and
eliminate this problem? Or is this something that
doesn't happen if you convert through 2000?
Thanks for any insight.
