Converting table borders to lines

Hello,

Maybe a dumb question. Can I convert a word tables to lines. That is,
I would like to retain the table as such with the data, I just need to
replace the tables (Lines that form the table) with actual word lines.
My application does not support tables. I was thinking of any way to
convert the borders and colum/row lines of word to actual word Line
shapes. Only that the table is now created with a bunch of separate
lines all arranged (placed horizontally and vertically) in such a way
that it looks like a table.

Kumar,

You could do a cut and paste special and convert it to an Office Drawing
Object, but that would be incredibly messy and from testing it on my machine
every little line is a separate item and so it would be near impossible to
work with on a large scale.
