converting table to text

M

maxitabulus

something has gone amiss in my environment....

I want to convert a table to text. When I select the menu option
(Table>Convert>Convert Table to Text), Word does not present the dialog where
you choose how to separate cells. Instead it just separates every cell with a
paragraph. It's supposed to show a dialog where you can make a couple of
choices.

I have customized my environment extensively. One of my settings overrode
the default operation of this command. As an experiment, I loaded Word and
bypassed my custom version of Normal.dot. This caused the command to function
properly. The next thing I tried is restore my customized Normal, and then
reset the Convert command using Tools>Customize. Still does not work properly.

I don't want to rebuild my entire Normal from scratch in order to fix this
problem. Any suggestions appreciated.

Look through your macro list for anything starting with the word "Table", such
as TableToOrFromText. When you find it, rename it so that it no longer matches
the built-in command.
