Converting templates from Office X to Office 2004

I have had a weird experience with one of my templates. When opening in
2004, one of the items doesn¹t appear. (In Office X is appears grayed out!).
Yet when I hit headers and footers it show¹s up.. Anyone have a thought
about that?

First, which application are you talking about?

Next, what "item" isn't displaying? Not sure what you mean by "hit
headers and footers" - is the "item" in a header or footer? What is the
source of the template? Which view are you using?
