converting text file to excel without delimiters

P

I downloaded a self-extracting file that is a text file
with carat delimiters. I want to convert to an Excel 97
file without the delimiters.

The following would not work if the file extension is .csv but
you can change it to .txt beforehand.

Open the file from Excel
File, Open
choose Delimiter when the Text import wizard comes up
on the next panel enter the caret as you delimiter.

If the file is already in an Excel spreadsheet you can use
Data, Text to Columns and the Text to Columns wizard is
the same as the Text import wizard.
choose Delimiter when the Text import wizard comes up

Open the file and the text import wizard will start up.

Select "Other" for Delimiter and put ^ in the box.

It will bring in the file to Excel, separate the data into columns,
and allow you to save it in any format you desire.
