Converting time (raw) into ss:mm

I have a report on which I recieve time information in the following format:
4.87, where this number represents 4 minutes and 87/100th of a minute.

I am looking for a way to convert this to mm:ss in excel.

So far I'm thinking I have to convert the 4.87 to seconds
I've tried then taking that number =A1/(60*60*24)

But I am not gettting the correct times.

Does anyone have a solution or some suggestions to try?

=A1/1440

Format as [mm]:ss
