No. Not with Word X. You will have slightly better luck with Word 2004.
..lit files are simply XHTML files, formatted according to the specification
at
http://www.openebook.org/
So anything that will write XML will produce an eBook. Word will produce
XML, but the power features such as the customisable style sheet you will
need for eBooks are not available on the Mac.
I would use Word 2003 for the PC: You will need the Enterprise or Developer
edition to get the full enchilada XML tools. If you are going to run a
validating parser (and if you are a publisher, you are...) then you need a
box with plenty of grunt.
On the Mac, something like DreamWeaver should do you: simply save your Word
document out to a Web Page, then use an XML Transform to package it into
..lit format.
Hope this helps
Hello,
Is there a way to save as .lit files and other formats for handheld and
reader formats with OSX Word X?
Thank you,
