Converting to Otlook 2003 from Outlook Express

Jeff

I am able to import all my messages from Outlook Express,
but new mail will not go into Outlook 2003. How do I
enable Outlook 2003 to receive all incoming mail?

1) Make sure Outlook is listed as your default mail program here: Control
Panel | Internet Options | Programs tab.

2) Remove all mail accounts from Outlook Express (unless you can't bear to
part with them for some reason).

3) Disable automatic checking for new mail in OE.

4) Only open OE if you're going to use it for newsreading (Outlook doesn't
have its own newsreader, it uses OE for that), and either open the
newsreader through Outlook (View | Go To | News) or open OE with the
/newsonly switch. This way, all mail functions in OE are disabled anyway,
so there's no chance of using them by mistake.

What's the difference between the /newsonly switch and the /outnews switch?

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

I don't think there is one...they both appear to work the same way. I used
to tell people to use /outnews, but /newsonly seemed like it made more sense
:)

The outnews switch creates a Title Bar called "Outlook Newsreader." Newsonly
does not.
