converting wordperfect 8.0 and 9.0 documents to word 2000 documents.

I have a user who is using wordperfect 8.0 and 9.0 and
wants to convert all of the wordperfect documents to word
2000 documents. Is there a simple step by step out there
that tells me how to do it? They also have word 2000
installed on their machine. Is there a converter in there?

My experience is that he should let WordPerfect convert to Word
documents, rather than let Word convert.
