Converting wordperfect document to Word

I have a word perfect document. How do I convert this document to word?

In WP, save it as an MS Word document or open the WP document using MS
Word and save it as an MS Word document

My issue is that the Wordperfect document has been sent to me and I don't
have WP. I'm trying to open it with word 2000 but I keep getting an error
that the document is corrupt.
