Hi. I've been trying to figure this out for a while. A
little lost though. I am working with fairly large
workbooks with 30+ sheets. These files are large 20-40MB.
Most sheets (containing embedded charts) in the workbook
are generated from a base sheet by simply using the Move
or copy sheet function of the tab. The base workbook
started from a previous workbook as these excel files
carry all the data for large scale studies that are
similar (ie similar formatting, variables, etc.).
Problems:
Large file sizes. Is this to be expected?
Links with broken references as a result of using copies
of existing workbooks. I've used the Findlinks add-in to
delete broken external inks. But as Findlinks goes
through its routine it lists unexpected errors in each of
the sheets that were copied with graphs from a base
sheet. These errors are:
'Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred in StageSeries 2
of ScanSheet Chart Chart 52 on SHEET_NAME Error 1004:
Unable to get the HasDataLabel property at the Point
Class.'
and
'Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred in Stage Series
1 of ScanSheet Chart Chart 54 on SHEET_NAME Error 13:
Type mismatch.'
Are these errors related to copying the sheets with
embedded charts? Are they causing the large file sizes?
Are there other problems with copying sheets with
embedded charts beyond having to reassign the new chart's
values to the new sheet? Thank you for any and all help.
