Copied database, no longer can retrieve new entries

I had to make a new empty database and import everything over from an old
database. I had replicated the old one at some point and then ran into
problems.

One of my forms is a dialog box. It allows the engineers a choice between add
new jobs, modify pending jobs, modify running jobs. In the modify pending
choice it asks for the job number before opening so it can retrieve the
information previously entered. Ever since the import into the new database,
any new job that has been entered from that day forward will not open up with
the information to edit/modify. The form opens without the information.
Fields are blank. However, old jobs entered prior to the import will still
open with all information and can be modified.

All other forms and information work properly.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance,
Wandi

No, I am sorry I don't have a guess on this one -- I've never used
replication and my only involvement was on a project where one of the three
participants mistakenly replicated and we had to get back to "unreplicated".
That was Access 95, and it seems to me that we did what you describe --
create a new, empty database and import everything.

To try to debug, I'd start by looking at the data records to see if there is
some difference between the "old" and "new" records that exhibit different
behavior. Then I would look at the code that is executed to open the forms
that are coming up without the pertinent job number.

For an "unusual" question, which is how I'd classify this, less than 6 hours
without an answer is probably not a big deal... the answers in these
newsgroups are provided by volunteers, and, I suppose, like me, most who
have not had the specific experience would just not try to "guess" at an
answer, so we are likely _still waiting_ for the "right person" to see the
question and have a ready answer.
