This problem started fairly recently and I have already
removed and reinstalled EXCEL which seemed to fix the
problem for about 12 hours.
Whenever I copy a formula (or anything) from one cell to
another the following happens:
1. the animated marquee around the selected cell(s)
flashes once then disappears.
2. The selected cells copy (and paste to the destination)
as text (no formulas carry over)
3. The paste special function only shows Text and Unicode
as an option. I cannot select "formulas" or anything
else. The Paste Special Window that pops up is a
completely different window.
4. I cannot paste to multiple cells (ie: I copy A:1 and
can only paste to A:2, not A:2 - a:15).
I have made no changes to Excel. However, when I tried to
copy today, I did "fat finger" some keys. But I think I
hit the "C" and "X" key at the same time. At any rate, I
cannot duplicate what ever caused this predicament in the
first place.
I have cleared the clipboard and that did not solve the
problem.
The problem occurred in both Excel 2000 and XP. I'm at my
wits end. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's
really frustrating not to be able to copy formulas,
especially if yu have to use the same formula over and
over.
Thanks!
