This is an oddball bug that occurs when your shape default settings
include one
or two of the pre-formatted shadow settings PPT offers.

Try drawing a rectangle; I'm betting that it'll have one of the two shadow
presets at the lower left of the shadow popup on the drawing toolbar.

If so, give it any other shadow setting but those two (17 and 18) then
right
click the rectangle and choose "Set autoshape defaults".

Now try copy/pasting a screenshot as before. Should work now.

For real?

If so, then oddball is right! I could think of some other words to
substitute there, too. lol

Hi' Echo S,

for whatever reason I'm not allowed to reset the Accelaration as describe in
the first link ... maybe because this is a company laptop

Trying it on a XP has no effect to my presentation .... still blue retancles#

Hi' Steve,

You are my hero .. :))

The DEFAULT SHADOW SETTINGS settings are the reason for the error ...
I used an existing PPT-Presentation as template and every time I paste
a screen shot on a slide the shadow setting 'no shadow' is gone, the preset
is overwrittten.

I did it with a totally new PPT ... It works!

Thank You for the hint!

Best Regards
