How can I leave a copy of my sent messages in the appropriate mailbox? Or am I always going to have to 'cc' myself? I've tried preferences, settings, rules. Not sure what to do next...

Thanks,

If the reply messages you wish to file are governed by the Mailing List
Manager, there is an option to "Also move messages I send to the list to
this folder", which works well if you've designated a folder to move the
messages to.

If the reply messages are not to lists, then create an Outgoing rule.

Tools->Rules->Outgoing tab:

*If any criteria are met

IF Any to recipient contains (enter address or name)

THEN Move Message (select folder)

I'm not sure I get moving Sent messages. You can always click on the link to
"Show reply" at the top of the message.

Thanks Diane! I totally missed that there were different tabs at the top of the rules window. I'm new to the Mac and related software, and some of it just looks so foreign.

What I did figure out right after I posted my message was this:

Tools>Rules>Mail (Pop) tab:

If all criteria are met

If *From* contains (my email address)

THEN copy it to the (folder of my choice)

That did the trick! I now see that I could do this in the 'Outgoing' tab as well. Thanks so much for the speedy reply!
