coping a table to a CD.

Rodney Brown

Please help. I'm very new at this. I have a table that I
need to copy to a CD and I'm not sure at all how to do
this. It's too large to fit on a floppy, but, I don't
know how to do that either, ha ha. But seriously, how do
I do this? I have it on a computer and I need to get it
on another computer in another office and we aren't
networked together or anything.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Rodney Brown

Do you want to copy an *individual table*? or an Access .mdb database
(a container for multiple forms, reports, tables, and other objects)?
A Table has no independent existance; if you need to transfer *just a
table* you'll need to export it into a .txt or Dbase file and
re-import it in the other office.

To copy a .mdb file to CD, you need a CD drive that writes disks (not
all do, it would be labeled CD-RW and would cost more <g>). If you
have one as your J drive, simply use Windows Explorer to copy the .mdb
file to J:. Depending on your operating system and installed software
you will get some sort of wizard or dialog, but it's pretty
straightforward if you just follow the instructions and (if need be)
click on Help.

One small complication: when you copy it to CD it will be marked
Read-Only, and will stay Read-Only when it's copied back to the other
hard disk. You'll need to view the file's Properties in Windows
Explorer and uncheck the Read-Only checkbox.
