copy a custom menu?

I would like to copy a custom menu from one workbook to another. Is there a
way to do this? If not, can a macro be used to build a menu? (I tried doing
the latter, but the macro did not record the name I assigned to the menu, and
I went no further with it.)

You can use the CommandBars part of the Office object model to create a menu
from scratch. But I don't think Excel saves menus in individual workbooks? You
might want to take this to the Excel.Programming newsgroup where the Excel
specialists can guide you.
