copy an item from one document and try to pase it in a new docu.

When i copy an item to the clipboard and try to use it in another program,
Word,Power point etc, the information gets lost from the clipboart. The paste
icon goes out and the inf is gone before it can be transferred. Any
suggestions?

Office Clipboard problems are usually due to a third party application
messing up the clipboard. For some strange reason, at least 75% of the time
it is Bluetooth utilities that causes the problem (though I have never found
out why!). Usually, uninstalling the Bluetooth utility resolves the problem
and reinstalling it is safe.

If you don't have any BlueTooth devices installed, per Terry's
suggestion, then take a look at this article for some troubleshooting
procedures:

Once you correct the problem for Word then the resolution for
PowerPoint should be similar.
