Copy and Paste Equations

In Office 2003 I could write an equation in Word 2003 and copy and paste it
into Visio 2003.

So far I have been unable to copy an equation from Word 2007 into Visio 2007.
When I try to paste it into Visio 2007 I get an error about an error occured
during the paste. Unexpected end of file.

When you select the equation ensure you have the square with the black
blobs in the corners and in the middle of the vertices, then do a
Copy. That picks up the correct type of object that Visio can
understand, otherwise you get a copy of mixed object types.

Thank you for the response Paul.

I tried inserting a new equation in Word 2007 and then I chose select all (
this gave me a colored backgraound around the equation) then copy and then
tried to paste into Visio 2007 and I got the end of file error.
Then I tried selecting the equation which gave me a gui like box around the
equation with a little tab at the top left and a drop down option arrowbox
on the right. I again attempted to copy and paste into Visio 2007 and got the
end of file error.

I was unable to find a way that would allow me to select the equation that
had black blobs in the corner. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the excellent Math Type 5 and insert perfectly directly into
Visio, Word, or any other software, as editable text.

(If in Word I invoke Insert - Object - Equation Editor 3 , Math Type 5 pops
up. It's much better than Equation Editor.)
