copy and paste from Excel to Lookup table values in PWA 2007

I seem to have mastered the art of managing a large and complex lookup
table in Excel then copying and pasting into PWA Lookup Table
values. However, I've only been able to manage the first column
only. Once I begin trying to past 2 columns (or even one and then
other individually) including the Description, it just doesn't
cooperate. So, I just don't use the and use fairly short names in the
first column. Any solutions or comments?

Thanks,

The description field does not do very much for you other than display
in MSP. It is no longer used in PWA (as it was with 2003). Copying
and pasting into lookup tables is a delicate operation and when it
goes wrong it messes up custom fields in a nasty way. Best to avoid if
you can.

I also noticed that in an attempt to simplify things, when I used a
single lookup table for multiple custom fields (for maintenance
purposes), the result was that the very top level of the hierarchy was
chopped off.
Very odd. Seems to me you should be able to use the same lookup table
for multiple custom fields.
