Copy and paste from IE 6 to Oultook causes Word to crash

When I try to copy a text hyperlink from a web page using IE 6 and paste it
into an email in Outlook, I get the following error message;
Microsoft Word has encountered an error and needs to close.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Word, the entire Office Suite and
ran the system file checker tool. So far no luck.

I found my own fix.
I went into Tools, Options, Edit tab.
Unclicked the "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink".

Now the hyperlink copies into Word and Outlook just fine and I can simply
click on the link rather than having to hold down the CTRL key as well.
