Copy and Paste Word 2003 Not Working

We have a user who has successfully in the past copied a paragraph from a
Word 2003 document and pasted it into an Outlook 2003 email. Today for some
reason she can no longer do that. We are running Office 2003. Has anyone
ever heard of this before?

Hello Kate,

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word (not
your fault: it's a charming foible of MS's "discussions" web interface,
which I see you used). Mac versions differ variously from PC versions, and
we don't have Outlook on the Mac (a comparable application, but not
Outlook).

Although several people here use both PCs and Macs and may possible give you
an answer soon, it's likely that more people in a PC group have experienced
