copy and paste worksheet

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I use Command C to copy a worksheet and Command V to paste the content into a new worksheet. Everything is transferred to the new worksheet but where I use formulas the result is transferred not the formula. The failure is consistent on all formulas. The formulas are really simple. Example of a formula:

Originating worksheet
Cell f3
=c3*d3*e3
result $31,200

New worksheet
Cell f3
result $31,200

The cells are formatted general and the worksheet is not protected.

Any ideas?

Have you tried Control/Right-Clicking the sheet tab & using the Move or Copy
Sheet command rather than copy/paste?

If you continue to have a problem be sure to specify exact versions of both
Office & OS X as well as any additional details you can offer.

Thanks Bob. I did try your suggestion but did not work. As I stated in my earlier message OS is 10.5.7 and Office 2008 latest patches applied. I tried a blank new Excel and both methods worked so my guess is that there is something in the particular spreadsheet that is creating the problem. I have been unable to figure out what it is though.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If it's just the one sheet then my first guess is that there is some level
of Protection. Have a look in the Tools> Protection menu to see if Unprotect
Sheet is listed.

BTW: Please re-read your op -- it refers only to "Office 2008" and "10.5
(Leopard)". That left the field open for OS X to be anywhere from 10.5.0 -
10.5.7 & Office to be anywhere from 12.0.0 to 12.1.7... Quite a range :)

Thank you very much Bob and apologize if I was not specific enough about the OS or Office versions. Good suggestion but none of the worksheets are protected. Though I am an advanced Office 2007 on Windows I am new on Mac so I am still trying to figure differences. Anyway it's water under the bridge now as I ended up recreating the spreadsheet from scratch. My guess is that it ended up being somehow corrupted. Thanks again.
