Vague question. Does this really have anything to do with Word?

If you want to get help, you need to be a lot more specific about
exactly what you are tring to do, what steps you have gone through, and
what are the exact error messages which make you conclude that you
cannot do what you want?

Have you consulted with the people at the target web site?

You don't copy paste to a website. You to move from website you need a
FTP Client

easiest was is you have to have username and password of both sites. I
use Interarchy download from old site to your computer then open new
site and upload to the new site. There is another FTP client for Mac
that has tow windows and you can move one to another. Its not as safe
as Interarchy, though.

While I have no doubt that the original poster has not explained what is
going on ... why is it that you say an FTP client is required. I've
uploaded to web sites many times without such a beast!

How do you mange that?

I have my own website which is hosted by Lunar pages and the only way
you get in is by a FTP client it so easy its like falling of a log one
you have user name and password setup. you can upload by HTTP?

The only other way I know to do so is through Contribute and DreamWeaver.

If you upload a File its by FTP.

If the person has put a document on a website then he (or she) then they
have likely run into a FTP Client. Unless they are using a company
server and simply copying and pasting through a Server.

We are getting a little far afield and it my fault. So let's get back to
task at hand. :)

Hi Phillip:

Most HTML editors, web applications, and Word all support WebDAV, which is
how Apple does MobileMe. It's a an extension to the HTTP protocol.

OS X Finder will mount a website as a volume using WebDAV.

Cheers

I have a Mobile me account and to say it slow is an understatement. I
attempted to upload my music collection (iTunes). I tried uploading
about 30 songs and after about 3 hours later, I gave up. I could have
walked to California and Back. It was if I was on Dial-up which by the
way I am on DSL. If it was on one of those new Comcast 50 MB Cable line.
it might be usable. But for me FTP is Fast and I can Reliably make sure
link pages don't break.

My MobileMe account is up for renewal in March I am seriously
considering the possibility of getting in touch with them and canceling
my subscription.

Hi Phillip:

Yeah, well the "speed" of transfer has very little to do with the WebDAV
protocol :)

I can publish the whole of the Word MVPs website in about 20 minutes, using
WebDAV over a fast cable connection.

But for reasons which will become obvious with a moment's thought, vendors
will throttle the speed of a WebDAV connection, to prevent using it for
things they might see as competition :)

Cheers
