Copy and Paste

I have a Windows XP SP2 PC with Office 2000 loaded. When I copy from 1 Word
Doc and Paste into another (using ctl-c and ctl-v)the pasted text takes on
the format of the Document I am pasting into. I do not want this. I want it
to keep the original formats. If I copy and then paste using the paste
button on Office clipboard the desired results happen. Is there a way to
have ctl-v keep the formats of the original doc without having to use the
paste function of Office clipboard?

Thanks

Use Paste Special.

I have a PC that has Windows 2000 and Office 2000 and I am able to copy and
paste using ctl-c and ctl-v without losing the formats from the original Doc.
The other machine with Windows XP and office 2000 seems to work differently.
Is there an incompatibility in Win XP and Office 2000?

The other wierd thing is if I try to use paste special the only 2 options I
get are unformatted text and unformatted unicode text. The other options are
gone.
