Copy appointments to Excel

Paul Delke

I just upgraded to Outlook 2003. I track time by creating appontments, then
at the end of the month use the 'by Catagory' view which shows Subject,
Start and End Time, and copy the appointments to Excel. In 2003 the times
were formatted 'Fri 10/17/2003 10:30 AM'. Now the current week is formatted
'Mon 8:30 AM', Last Week 'Wed 11/5', and last month ''. This keeps me from
calculating the number of hours for each appointment. Does anyone know of a
switch where I can turn this off? I tried copying to Notepad with the same
results.

TIA,
Paul

Have you tried using Format Columns to change the date formatting?

Sue,

When I looks at my apppointments in the 'by Category' view in Outlook 2003,
the Start and End Times are displayed as 'Mon 8/11/2003 9:00 AM'. The value
being copied to Excel is 8/11/2003. If I add the time format it's always
12:00:00AM, not the 9:00 AM I would expect. Also, I copied the data from
Outlook 2003 to Notepad and only saw the date.

Any other ideas?

Paul

Sue,

I hit send too fast. Thanks, the Format Columns worked. It was set to 'Best
Fit' and by changing it to 'Mon 12/1/2003 9:00 AM' forced the format so
pasting into Excel gives me the format I need.
